Talent Plastics, who is a fully owned industrial group within Swedish conglomerate O.F. Ahlmark & Co Eftr AB, is currently doing structural changes in order to strengthen and focus the group’s activities for the future.
The Talent group is active in moulding of thermoplastic components and manufacturing of subassemblies based on them.
Since 1967, Talent Plastics Herrljunga AB is a subcontractor to mainly Swedish industry. The company manufactures and supplies components and subsystems for a variety of industries such as manufacturing industry, electronics, HVAC, medical, automotive, kitchen and furniture industries.
Due to changes in production volumes and production content, Talent Plastics will restructure its operations in Herrljunga and in connection with this also reduce the workforce. In 2011, several active decisions were taken in order to focus the business on three sub-markets and two major activities:
• Customers within electronics (incl. automotive), HVAC & fluid systems and medical technology.
• Production Injection moulding in tonnage < 200 tons with associated assembly, electronics assembly of subsystems (Embedded Electronics).
The company currently has 53 employees and 2011 had a turnover of 63 MSEK.
Today's notice concerns 24 blue-collars and 4 white-collars and is expected to be fully implemented in August 2012.
Sales in 2012 are expected to be approximately 50 MSEK and then increase in future years to a targeted 90 MSEK in 2014.
